The young golfer can count on multiple high-profile supporters as she begins her professional golf debut this Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who is the granddaughter of a former US president, obtained a sponsor's invitation to participate at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.

Her grandfather, an avid golfer, operates numerous international courses and regularly matches against Kai.

"He's pretty good. I shouldn't elaborate but we have some close matches," she stated.

Kai explained that her grandfather, unable to come, told her: "Just avoid anxiety."

"He basically suggested to compete and have fun," she explained.

"To me, he's just an ordinary family member. He's not attending for the tournament. He's focused on running the country, making him rather occupied."

While still amateur, the golfer has competed in a mere three competitions in 2024 and holds position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association standings.

But she can seek guidance from Tiger Woods, who is dating her mother.

"He represents the greatest golfer globally," Kai stated.

"And he's an even better person. He advised me to compete, enjoy myself, and go with whatever happens."

Kai will face multiple the biggest names in the sport at the competition, including world number two Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.

The LPGA stated that her participation helps introduce the sport to wider groups, specifically with the next generation.

Kai boasts millions of followers and recently launched an exclusive fashion and living company.

The competition starts at 5:30 PM GMT.
