Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.
Prolific children's author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.
A representative for the firm stated: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the decision was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding allegations of inappropriate behaviour involving women.
The firm has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."
A Prolific Writing Journey
Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, having sold over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.
A number of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.
To date, he has released in excess of 40 works combined, encompassing a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.
A Dual Career
His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.
This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
